The brothers Bryn and Keir DuBois had been writing snappy pop/rock songs since the beginning of their membership in another Isla Vista band called The Mojo Wire. When that band suddenly fizzled out, Bryn and Keir recruited guitarist Brian Wolff, a longtime friend, to help them flesh out some new tunes. Drummer Billy Fedderson, transplanted from Oxnard via Colorado, brought his jazz-trained chops, love for reggae and ska, and punk band experience (Boulder, CO's Fallaway) in tow to solidify the others' genre-bending grooves.
Honey White soon plowed into the chaotic Isla Vista vortex of keg parties and guerrilla gigs, and also teamed up with other acts downtown Santa Barbara during the following year. The band's first formal recordings were released as the My Band Rocks CD, which was praised as "some of the finest music to come out of Isla Vista" by the Santa Barbara Independent. The band continues to gig and record in the Santa Barbara area, recently resulting in two self-produced live albums, Live and Unprofessional and Epic Noise Now!
